History of Albright
Albright Technologies was founded in 1995 by David Comeau in Sterling, MA. The company’s original focus was medical plastic prototyping. The world of medical device manufacturing continued to evolve, with medical research looking for products to better suit the human body, in 2005 Albright made a strategic decision to transition from plastic to silicone, a more bio-inert material.
Over the next couple of years Albright educated engineers on the benefits of silicone. A silicone manual was comprised and can currently be downloaded for free. With the advancement of the industry came demand for medical silicone parts and that meant growth for Albright. In 2007, Albright moved to its new location in Leominster,MA, equipped with clean room facilities. Albright is an ISO 13485:2003 registered company, staffed with trained employees who are committed to delivering outstanding value by providing products and services which consistently meet or exceed customer requirements.
Albright Technologies continues to educate engineers about the benefits of silicone and in 2011, launched two new sites, Silicone.Pro a blog for news and discussion on medical silicone design, prototyping, manufacturing, and quality control and most recently MatSilicone.com, a free, searchable database of medical grade silicones.
